Overview Introduction
2420 Powder Receiver
Application
The 2420 receiver is designed to handle free-flowing granular, powdered, regrind, pelletized materials, and PVC compounds. It features a large filter area with automatic cleaning capabilities, making it ideal for fine powders, and wear-resistant carbon steel (or optional stainless steel) contact areas that ensure reliable conveying of mildly abrasive materials.
The 2420 receiver comes in two versions: one optimized for continuous material conveyance, and the other tailored for loss-in-weight (LIW) feeder refill applications. Depending on the specific application and the material being fed, users can choose from a variety of discharge valve types, including gravity, orifice, and butterfly valves.
For keep-full applications, the receiver is equipped with a gravity gate discharge valve. This system initiates material-drawing cycles as long as the inductive proximity switch on the gravity discharge gate remains nearly closed—or until a signal is detected from a secondary level indicator located in the hopper—thereby ensuring that the hopper below the receiver stays fully loaded at all times.

The receiver features a low overall height, thanks to its design that incorporates a cyclonic primary separator paired with an internal cartridge secondary separator equipped with automatic air-pulse cleaning. It’s available in carbon steel construction with an epoxy-coated interior and an enamel-painted exterior, or with 1.4301 (AISI 304) stainless steel material in contact with the product. A tangential material inlet tube ensures gentle material entry, minimizing degradation of the conveyed product, and includes an internal check valve that enables the receiver to be used in vacuum sequencing systems featuring multiple receivers.
Mechanical Features
• Low overall height
• Rugged modular design
• Quick-connect clamps for easy cleaning and filter maintenance
• Full-support discharge flange for mounting
Controls
The receiver is available with controls suitable for use either with a solid-state microprocessor controller (MPC) or a programmable logic controller (PLC). Both control systems operate on 24 VDC low voltage and come with installation kits that simplify and make the setup more cost-effective. The receiver controls feature color-coded quick connectors and enable communication with the central controller. For single-receiver applications, we offer the LSR Controller. In loss-in-weight feeder refill applications, the LSR Controller integrates seamlessly with feeder controls.Download Product Specification Sheets
