Overview Introduction
Rotary Valve MD
The Maximum-Duty (MD) AerolockTM is widely used with some of the most challenging materials, including minerals, chemicals, fillers, food ingredients, filled pellets, PVC compounds, and diatomaceous earth. Engineered for heavy-duty to severe industrial applications, the MD can handle pressure differentials of up to 1.4 bar(g) [20 psi(g)] and/or temperatures as high as 121°C [250°F]. Its exceptional ability to withstand extreme shock loads and elevated temperatures makes the MD Aerolock a "true maximum-duty" performer.

The MD features a ten-blade rotor that maintains a minimum three-blade labyrinth seal to minimize air leakage. The ten-blade rotor is available with either flat or relieved tips, offering several rotor options. Additionally, the MD incorporates two tapered roller bearings—one on the thrust side and one on the drive side.

Tool Kits
Required for the field installation of seals and bearings. The tool kit enhances Aerolock performance by minimizing premature wear caused by improper seal and bearing installation.
The MD toolkit includes:- Seal driver tool for installing T3 seals and inserts
- Expansion tool to assist in the installation of the T3 inserts
- bearing driver tool for installing drive and thrust side bearings
- Shaft driver tool for installing machined shaft ring
Accessories
A complete line of accessories is available for Coperion K-Tron Aerolock rotary valves: including a variable frequency drive controller, disconnect panel, outlet adapters, shear protectors, maintenance slide gates, sight glasses, outlet guards, surge hoppers, floor support stands, flanged transitions, and custom transitions designed for easy integration into an existing facility.
