P-SFT Smart Force Transducer load cells, designed for compression operation, deliver accurate, stable, and reliable digital weight measurements across a wide range of operating conditions.
The P-SFT leverages the dependency of a vibrating wire's resonant frequency on its tension to measure applied loads. Mechanically, the applied load is transmitted to the wire, causing a change in its resonant frequency—this change is then used by the onboard microprocessor to calculate the weight of the load. Finally, a fully calibrated signal (linearized, spanned, and temperature-compensated) is sent via RS-485 serial communication to the controller.

With the ProRate PLUS control system, each feeder is equipped with its own PCM control module, installed directly at the feeder unit. In a line configuration, up to eight feeders can be managed from a single PCM-KD unit. Communication between the feeders and the operator interface occurs via an industrial network. All setup, diagnostic, and operator interface functions are seamlessly controlled through the PCM-KD interface. Thanks to its close integration with the feeder, the PCM can be pre-wired and pre-tested at the manufacturing facility before installation.

Two models are available:

• The PCM-KD features an operator interface with a keypad and LCD display, along with a motor drive for a single feeder. The control and motor drive module are combined into a single component and are integrated directly into the feeder. Additionally, the PCM-KD offers simple line-control functionality: up to eight feeders can be managed from a single PCM-KD.
• The PCM-MD is a single feeder motor drive unit with no operator interface. The PCM-MD must be connected to a PCM-KD in order to control the feeder.
